Since Hydro-Québec began calling for tenders related to wind energy development, several businesses and workers in Baie-des-Chaleurs have developed expertise in this field.

Furthermore, in 2009, the Baie-des-Chaleurs region will launch its first wind farm in Carleton-sur-Mer.

The mission of the TechnoCentre éolien  is to facilitate the emergence of a competitive wind power industry in Gaspé; it offers several support services to all firms interested in doing business in this sector of activity.
